Vincies Shine Like Diamonds at Whitsuntide 2022

About 100 athletes from 5 clubs journeyed south to Grenada, to take part in the annual Whitsuntide Games on June 4th. The clubs, The Excel Track Club, High Performance Track Club, Mustangs, St. Vincent Grammar School and Xceed Sports Club won a total of 38 medals at the Kirani James National Stadium, in St. George’s.

Kesiann John of High Performance started the collection off, in the very first event on the track. She won the Open Female 1500m in 5:26.64 seconds. She then came back the latter stages of the meet to win Open 3000m.

Male middle distance stalwart, Zichri Hepburn, also of High Performance, also did a double, winning the U17 Male 800m and Open 3000m.

The youngest member of the contingent, 9 year old Jaheem Joseph, representing High Performance, was not going to be outdone by his older compatriots, and took double silver in the U11 Male 100m and 200m. Also doing a double, was High Performance’s Devonric Mac who blazed to victory in the U20 Male 100 in 10.69, and the 200m, setting a new meet record of 21.20.
