Record Breaking Start to Outdoor Season

The opening to the 2021 outdoor season was impressive for 3 Vincentian student-athletes, who either broke, or threatened various records for school and country.

University of Oklahoma sophomore, Mikeisha Welcome, triple jumped into her outdoor season, by breaking her own national record at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on March 27th. She jumped 13.57m, which broke the record of 13.15m she set when she placed 3rd at the 2019 Pan Am U20 Championships in Costa Rica.

Her jump in Texas earned her a 2nd place finish.

Expected to go even faster as the season progresses, we may very well see her break the National Record of 51.23, held by Kineke Alexander-Stay.
