New National Indoor 800m records

The Men’s & Women’s National Indoor 800m records were both broken on the same day, Saturday, February 10.

Shafiqua Maloney won the 800m at the Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas, finishing with the #2 time in the world. She ran 1:58.69, knocking almost 2 and half seconds off her own 2:01.22. The time also qualifies her for her 2nd Olympic Games, to be held in Paris, later this year.

Also in record breaking form on the day was Penn State University Sophomore, Handal Roban, who broke the 1:46 barrier at the BU Invitational at Boston University, to place 3rd in 1:46.81.
