Handal Roban - Junior Sportsman of the Year

The sport of Athletics took home 3 awards, at the National Lotteries Authority 2019 National Sports Awards, held at the SVG Community College, on Saturday, March 21st.

After winning 100m and 200m bronze medals at the 2019 Carifta Games, and setting records at the Inter Secondary Schools Athletics Championships, Ulanda “Sukie” Lewis was voted Junior Sportswoman of the Year.

Handal Roban, was adjudged Junior Sportsman of the Year, after he won bronze medals in the 800m, at the 2019 Carifta Games, and the NACAC U18 Championships.

The Senior Sportswoman of the Year award went to long distance runner Linda Mcdowall. She secured a third consecutive NACAC 10K title, along with the 2019 Caricom 10K.

The other nominees from athletics were Junior Ashton for Senior Sportsman of the Year, along with Chester Morgan and Rawlson Morgan, who were nominated for Coach of the Year.
