IT DAT & High Performance top Juvenile Championships
The National Juvenile Championship concluded after 2 days of multi-events at the Sir Vincent Beache National Stadium on April 11th & 12th.
The Championships was run in two age categories; 11-12, and 13-14. It saw the 11-12 athletes accumulate points after doing a Pentathlon of 5 events, which were the 60m, 800m (Girls)/1000m (Boys), Long Jump, High Jump and Ball Throw.
The 13-14 Athletes did a Heptathlon of seven events, consisting of 80m, 1000m (Girls/1200m (Boys), 60m Hurdles (Girls)/80m Hurdles (Boys), Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put and Ball Throw.
Coming out on top for the 11-12 Girls was Nailah Stevenson of the IT DAT Academy, with 1939 points. Second place went to Skai Cain of the Xcel Track Club with 1863 with Teana Scott of the Xcel Track Club third, with 1858.
In the Boys’ category, Christian Duncan of High Performance was the winner with 2580, ahead of Mustangs’ Dorian Louie with 2535, and Tyler Hercules of Biomechanics with 2462.
The 13-14 Girls champion is Ariel Stephens of High Performance, who scored 3078, with Onesia Moore from Xcel in second with 2916, and J’nae Farrel of IT DAT in third, with 2802. The Boys champion is Kingroy Hepburn of High Performance, who scored 4727, with the second spot taken by Xcel’s Rohan Lett, with 4091, and third going to Ethan Kent of the St. Vincent Grammar School with 4087.
The next event on the TASVG calendar is the annual Kid’s Athletics Day, on May 10th, at the Sir Vincent Beache National Stadium.
