SVGOC joins world in observing International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

St Vincent and the Grenadines Olympic Committee (SVGOC), on behalf of all of its members, joins the International Olympic Movement and global sports movement in observing the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.

This year, special attention is placed on the pandemic and the resilience of peoples across the world in the face of the challenges arising from the impact.

Sport has, during this pandemic, allowed for peoples everywhere to see participation in physical activity as important for their general well being. We are aware that it is a challenge to continue this trend but the length of the pandemic thus far may well have allowed the daily practice of exercise to become a habit, a good habit.

We embrace the fundamental principles of the Olympic Movement and of the global movement for Sport for Development and Peace.

We are hopeful for an end to the pandemic and look forward with the rest of the world to a better healthier world.
