4 make NACAC Indoor Rankings
The North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC), the governing body of Athletics in the area has released it first ranking list for the 2022 indoor season, which sees 4 Vincentian athletes on it.
On the women’s list, Shafiqua Maloney made the top 10 in the 400 and 800 meters, along with Tamara Woodley in the 400m and Mikiesha Welcome in the Triple Jump.
Maloney is ranked 9th in the 400m, after running 52.33 at the Arkansas Invitational on January 14th. The Indoor 800m record holder is ranked 7th in that event with 2:01.74, which was run at the Tyson Invitational on February 12th.
Woodley is at #19 in the quarter mile, after running a personal best 54.02 at the Texas Tech Shootout on February 11th.
Welcome, the national Triple Jump record holder, makes the list in her event, with a jump of 13.29m, which puts her 11th. The University of Oklahoma Junior accomplished this at the Texas Tech Invitational on February 12th.
The lone male to make the rankings list is Kimorie Shearman, who did the double in the 200m and 400m. He’s ranked 12th, with 21.17 in the 200m, and 17th in the 400m, with 47.15.
