National Record & Carifta qualification for Ryan

It was a record setting opening weekend for national U20 Long Jump record holder, Uroy Ryan, who competed in his first meet for the 2023 season at the Pure Water/Jamaica College Invitational. Ryan competed in the Triple Jump event on Saturday, January 7th and placed 2nd, with a distance of 14.76m. Though it wasn’t enough to win, it was enough to eclipse Ronaldo Andrews’ National Men’s U20 14.52m record, which was set last year, and also make the automatic qualification standard for the 2023 Carifta Games.

Also competing in the meet, was Kodi Grant, in his first year at Jamaica College. He jumped to a winning distance of 6.43m in the U17 Boys Long Jump.
