Spike in Covid-19 cases forces meet cancellation

Team Athletics SVG has been forced to cancel our first development meet of 2021, due to an overnight spike in Covid-19 cases. This morning, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment confirmed 55 new cases, 52 of which had no recent travel history. This now brings the total number active in SVG to 102.

Effective today, Friday, January 8th, the protocols for mass gatherings has been revised to 10 persons indoors, and 20 persons outdoors. This new revision essentially means that it will not be possible for TASVG to hold the meet, which was scheduled for the Arnos Vale Sports Complex, from 9:30 am.

TASVG encourages all persons to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols, like wearing masks when in public, physically distancing of 3-6 feet and regularly sanitizing hands.
