A GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP

St. Vincent and the Grenadines continued our medal winning drive, when we struck gold at the 2022 Friendship Games in Fort De France, Martinique on May 28th. In her very first outing in national colours, Shaquania Jacobs, of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School, and the Xceed Sports Club, ran a personal best time of 25.15 to win the U17 Girls 200m.

Zichri Hepburn of the Barrouallie Secondary School and High Performance Track Club, took his middle distance dominance regionally, when he won the U17 Boys 800m in 2:01.07, a good 2 seconds clear of the field.

Also travelling to Martinique was Girl’s High School and High Performance sprinter, Jadiesha Samuel who was 3rd in her U17 Girls 200m heat, and 7th overall with a time of 26.08, and J’mar Saunders of the IT DAT Academy and the St. Martin’s Secondary School, who was 5th in the U17 Boys 200m in 22.93.
